Warfield Take and Grow Event
The Cubs and Scouts of 1st Warfield were out and about on Sunday, helping at the Warfield Parish Council Vegetable Take And Grow event. This is an annual event where people in the local area can come and pick up some free plants, or exchange things they have too many of for ones that they want.
Several weeks previous Cubs and Scouts planted seeds and took them home to nurture. These were then brought along to the event and offered to anyone who wanted to grow some fresh produce of their own.
We are very grateful to the Parish Council who invited us to take part in this event, as our young people thoroughly enjoyed the growing and the giving out of plants. It also gave us a great opportunity to be visible in the local community.
